This is a great idea. It is a small posy of real flowers sealed into a glass dome and mounted on a wooden base. It is a little over 5 inches in diameter. It is claimed that the arrangement will last a couple of years. The arrangement is exactly as advertised and is very tasteful. The flowers are real but I don't think the leaves used to make up the base of the display are. They are quite convincing though and do not detract from the over all effect. There are leds around the base of the display which are powered by 3 AAA batteries (not provided) which create a quite nice effect in the dark They are switchable. I, personally, don't think think they are a necessary feature and I will probably leave them turned off.The whole item is extremely well (and attractively) packed and should withstand some fairly rough treatment if posted.All in all this is a great gift idea which is easier to send than a bunch of flowers and will last much, much longer.The outer box dimensions are 168 x 168 x 178mm and it weighs 563 gms (including three batteries) for anyone wanting to calculate postage.

This is a really beautiful and unusual ornament which is perfect to give to a loved one as a gift. It arrives very well packaged, it is encased in foam inside the cardboard box which means it is very well protected while in transit. You also receive a care card and a greetings card too.There is a glass dome (which is removable for cleaning etc) on a wooden base. Inside there are real, preserved flowers with added greenery which is artificial but does add to the overall look of the ornament. There are also LED lights inside which is a lovely feature, you need three AAA batteries which are placed in the base, the on/off switch is also on the base. I think it may have been nicer if the lights were wrapped around the dome rather than just at the bottom but it still looks lovely whether the lights are on or off.It is advised to place this ornament out of direct sunlight and avoid humidity above 80%, this will protect the flowers from fading, and they should last for 3-5 years according to the product information.I would definitely recommend this item, it is a lovely and different gift which is well made and is far easier to look after than real flowers. This will also give you so much more long lasting enjoyment than a real bouquet too.
