After inheriting (on moving in) a badly fitted letterbox and one of those cheap, metal draught excluders, I want on the hunt for something more substantial. It seems there are lots of options at the cheaper and lower quality end of the market but other options are limited. We needed to both cover the letterbox and also cover up some previous damage, so we wanted something sizeable and tougher, to fit the purpose. The magflap, with its larger footprint and magnetic closure was just the product and worked perfectly once fitted. Some reviews do complain that the product is plastic rather than metal. This is correct but the way in which the frame and the flap are manufactured, with metal components to aid the magentic feature, make it much more solid than the cheaper metal options. Is it the cheapest option available, no it's not but if you are willing to pay the premium then you get a much better product, in size and quality, than the many alternatives.I'd happily buy again if the need arose.

This is a great product. I noticed how well it seals out the cold as soon as I installed it. Looks great and feels really sturdy. I found it super easy to install and finally a company that posts their product using eco friendly packaging (No giant boxes and plastic here!)My new years resolution was to buy local or support small businesses so I was really pleased to have stubbled across Magflap. Would highly recommend.

I bought the Magflap letter plate to replace a leaking brass one. I was fed up with skinny letter boxes and the stupidly designed type that has a brush bar on it.The Magflap is superb in every way with its very easy fitting and magnetic seal. And a massive postage aperture that takes all kinds of things without fuss. The only thing that lets it down badly is that it is made of plastic and it shows. The actual front flap is as described as “Brassy“ and is a perfectly accurate description. It is also flexible and feels flimsy So I fear that durability will be an issue. The Magflap is also very expensive in comparison to others. If the manufacturer ever decides to upgrade to a metal version I would be the first customer and hang the price, because it’s such brilliant idea and does it’s job well.I did not want to downgrade my ratings but in my view it doesn’t deserve better marks. Nevertheless I would certainly recommend it to anyone, and if it breaks I would buy another.

The internal letter flap was easy to fit and has completely stopped the icy breeze through the letterbox. My hallway is now much warmer. It looks very stylish and has so far survived the daily assault from the postman. It does not restrict the letterbox opening as it is quite large.

Exactly what we needed, or so I thought, to remedy a large draughty internal letterbox opening. However, it is flimsy plastic and the two minimal hinge pins sheered off as soon as installed and took one of the plastic brackets / housing with them. Am immediately returning them. Very disappointed. Make this of metal and with a proper hinge pin and you'll be onto a winner.
