Pen covering peeling within 24 hours, and where magnets attach the ends chip off. After a single day it looked like it had been given hard wear and tear for months. On day three, some of the magnets split apart. Aboslute waste of money, shockingly bad quality. If I could give it 0 I would.

I didn't know what to expect with this set, it quickly delighted me with how much magnetic fun there was to be had, the combinations were endless.ProsA lot of bits n pieces includedVery strong magnetic partsSteel ball bearings in 3 sizes4 additional pen refillsSeemingly endless combinationsGreat fidget toyNeatly organised boxBargain priceConsPatience required to put it all back into the boxFirstly; I love how much is included in the box, rather than just a magnetic pen (which I would have been happy with on its own) you get a wealth of ball bearings in 3 sizes and a few spare parts.The pen on its own is fascinating, it is made up from strong magnetic cylinders which just pull apart into pieces, I found this a great fidget toy on its own, but when you start adding ball bearings in between the cylinders you get a very strong ball-joint and that's where the fun really starts as you make whatever shapes spring to mind, I lost track of time as I experimented with different shapes and combinations.This set is possibly the most fun I've had with magnets, I even found fun in reverse polarity with the cylinders slipped over a pen refill, try it and see for yourself but the force is strong with this method.Oh, and the pen is very good too, there are five refills in total so it should last you a long time, the ink to paper is smooth, narrow and just easy to write with.Pointless? I don't know who comes up with crazy ideas like this, but kudos to them as I just love everything about this set, as a magnet fan I will enjoy this set for years I think, I wouldn't mind a second one so I can make larger structures with it.Overall ConclusionIf you enjoy magnetic stuff then I think you're going to love this pen set, the novelty factor will last a lot longer than most magnetic toys as you keep creating new structures and experiments along the way. A real bargain.

Price when reviewed: £ 9.99.This magnetic kit pen is supplied in a nice black gift box. As a pen it is a bit heavier than a standard plastic gel pen 10.5g against 49g but it does write nicely as you’d expect a gel pen to do. The stylus tips work well on both my android phone and iPad.Of course, the main trick of this pen is that it can be taken apart and used to build small models (you’ll not be able to make all the models on the included card as you’ll need more kits to do so, and the bike wheels each need a minimum of 50 rings and only 14 are in the kit.). The magnet rings are very strong and snap together even when a few centimetres apart.I like the black finish and that it’s supplied with plenty of accessories, a spare ring, 18 small balls, 9 medium balls, 3 large balls, and 4 extra gel ink refills as well as the one already in the pen.Overall, this is a nice giftable pen that has the novel feature that you can also build magnetic models.
