Simpel klein en makkelijk om mee te nemen, aansluiting werkt perfect compleet met hdmi,audio en perfect beeld.

Werkt prima ook kopieën van vroeger.Alleen de standaard krijg ik niet zodat ie blijft staan. Maar dat zal wel aan mij liggen 😅

Easy to stick on your bedroom TV or take it with you on a holiday. Great it can play both Dvd's and Cd's. Certainly worth the money.

After 22 years of loyal service my trusty Pioneer DVD player unfortunately died on me. Admittedly, I hadn't been using it to watch DVDs in years, since I switched it out in my home cinema set-up for a Blu-Ray player nearly a decade ago, but I was still using it as a CD player. It looked great, fit neatly in my office cabinet, and had all the functions I could want from a CD/DVD player.Since similar new CD players with AV-out (instead of dedicated speakers or just a headphone jack) easily cost around 200 bucks or more, I decided to see if I could find a cheap DVD player that would fit my requirements, if only as a temporary solution. I ended up buying this little machine, which is certainly quaint, but not without its quirks. I'll list them below.PROS:- Sleek design, small and light-weight, yet the build-quality feels fairly sturdy for its low price.- The numbers on the display are very bright and easy to read, even in daylight.- The remote feels very decent and works well from a distance up to 2 meters / 7 ft.- The included stand is a nice addition, but of limited use. They suggest putting the DVD player on the stand, but I would advise against that, just keeping the machine flat at all times. It is useful, however, to store and display the CD/DVD case while the disc is playing.- Very white, which is perfect for my set-up of all-white and silver machinery.CONS:- The cables are rubbish, and I'd recommend switching those out by better cables if you happen to have those.- The AV-out produces a very loud hum with the included AV cable. There's still some light hiss using a decent audio cable when you play and pause a disc (with the motor still running), but it stops when the motor's off. I assume the AV-out transmits interference caused by the motor through the speakers. You'll get the best sound by only using a HDMI cable, even for audio CDs.- It starts loading and playing discs as soon as it's powered up, while I prefer it to start no sooner than when I push Play.- BEWARE that a disc will keep spinning after you've pressed Stop, and even after pressing Eject. You have to push Stop twice or power the player off to stop a disc from spinning.- While the buttons on the side are nice from a design perspective, it makes operating the machine a little awkward, so you'll end up using the remote most of the time.- You might not get sound from a DVD right away, as I did, but you can change this in the Audio Settings, by first turning the sound off, exit the menu, and then opt RAW or PCM at Audio Output.- The motor is quite loud when playing a disc. You probably won't notice it if the machine's a few feet away from you, but you'll definitely hear it running in quieter parts of a film or song when it's in arm's length.- Although it's fun to see a disc spinning inside the machine through the clear cover, it doesn't seem like a great idea to keep the laser permanently exposed when there's no disc inserted (but I could be wrong).- The settings menu looks like it was designed for Windows 95 and it's every bit as questionable as you'd imagine.- There's no upscaling, so don't expect any better image quality than the DVD is encoded with. You're probably not going to get very sharp footage from a decades old DVD on a modern screen anyway.- The audio volume appears to be lower coming from DVDs than from CDs, but that might be down to the sound mastering of the discs themselves. Note that this machine doesn't go very loud either way.- The USB function works for images, but it doesn't seem to support video files (at least, not well).- No batteries included for the remote.- The stand-by light (when switched off) is brighter than it needs to be. Not sure if it needed to be there at all.CONCLUSION:If you expect little to nothing from this device and manage to get it at a nice discount, as I have, it's actually not too bad. This DVD player mostly does what it needs to, as long as you use a decent HDMI cable, although I don't imagine it'll last a lifetime, or really much longer than a few years. If it does, that's a win. I'd only recommended this machine if you're either on a budget or just want the cheapest option to play DVDs and CDs, but if you need something more permanent and durable, you're better off with more expensive devices. For now, this little machine looks really nice in my office set-up, and I might even leave it there once I decide to splash out on a decent CD player -- which I'm sure I eventually will.P.S.: To everyone expecting a DVD player will work with a computer -- IT WON'T. If you want to watch DVDs on your computer, you'll need an external DVD drive, NOT a DVD player. Those are two different things. I can imagine it might be confusing if you're not familiar with DVD players and the like, but it feels unfair giving a device a low rating just because you don't know what it actually does. This device will only play DVDs directly through a screen, so you can't hook it up to a computer. The USB on this device only works as a media input, and even barely so, not as an output.
