I had inherited my dad's old Makita belt sander. These things are great because they are solid and can be pretty much rebuilt entirely. As you can see from the photos, it's had many years of use and the graphite pad needed to be replaced quite badly.One thing I noticed with this sander is that parts, although available, tend to be a bit tougher to find and take time to come in as. I managed to find this graphite pad on here thankfully but shipping time was well over a month. I didn't mind as anywhere else that offered this pad, their pricing was 3 times more expensive.The product arrived in a simple enveloppe. Thankfully it was not bent or damaged, but a thicker shipping method would have been preferred to protect the product.The fit was exact and it went on perfect. You can see from the comparison just how bad the old one was. That tells me that hopefully they last some time before needing to be replaced. Time will tell on that one.Overall, this is a great replacement pad and should do the job perfectly. If you have time to wait for it, then this is the way to go.
