I could not find any information online on how to connect a Shop Vac to the Makita BO6050J 6 inch sander. Makita is really pushing their own dust collection system.This attachment, plus 2 1/2” to 1 1/4”adaptor works well. ASIN B0BJJZ59HK

The Makita P 70378 tool adapter worked well with Makita tools for dust extraction.

I use this with the 35mm hose that comes with the Makita DC, This adaptor fits into the end of the hose so you can use the smaller 27mm tools (ie: sanders, trim router, plate jointer etc.). I have a 27mm hose, but it is handy to also have the adaptor when on job site, so I have to carry less equipment with me. It is also anti-static, So it will not get covered with sawdust or screw with the electronics in the tools.
