This is very effective. The picture shows my nails after buffing - no nail polish at all, these are my bare nails. The buffer itself is very good quality chamois, well built, and attractive, 12cm long. The nail powder is messy, though. I ended up decanting it into a bigger pot to make it easier to use and handle. The powder is packed down very tightly in the small tub. This will last a very long time - you only need a very small amount of powder rubbed onto the buffer in order to do both hands.How to use: I used the back end of a pair of tweezers to put a very small mound of powder on the buffer. Lightly rubbed the powder into the chamois. Used light pressure on each nail in a criss-cross about 10 times. Don't press too hard. Don't let the nail start to feel hot either. Do your nail edge as well - it helps prevent splitting. Wash hands after and just buff your nails quickly on the drying towel. Run the nail pencil underneath the nail tip if you want (I didn't do that in the pic).Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the nail pencil too. Is it worth £18? I think so. I have been looking for a replacement for Nailoid's carnate cream for a long time. This was a punt, frankly, and I didn't have high hopes for the powder, and I bought it mainly because the buffer looked like good quality (which it is). But the powder gives you that same 'squeak'' across your nails that Nailoid used to do, and leaves that same powdery residue on your nail in a thin line that carnate cream used to do too (except it's white, not pink). The shine is outstanding. I think if you smoothed the ridges of your nails with a 3-way or 4-way first, and then continued to use this buffer and powder daily, it will keep the nail surface smooth.There is no ingredient list on the powder tub, the cardboard tube, or on the leaflet that comes with the kit.
