This is a Scribe Calligraphy Set from Manuscript. The set contains one pen and three nibs. The set also includes two ink cartridges with black ink.The instructions on how to install the ink cartridge are not provided on the packet but there is a QR code and a link to the website where you can find all the instructions on how to use the pen.I like the design of the pen, it is nice to hold and easy to write with. I have tried the smallest and the medium-sized nib. I had problems using the small nib, the ink didn't flow very well. I am not sure whether there is something wrong with the nib as I can't see any visible defects. The medium-sized nib works perfectly.

This is a wonderful design - it's a perfect blend of the traditional, with the elegant long design, superb quality nibs, and elegant cap - but adapted for the beginner by accepting cartridges (two are included in the box - they are hidden inside the little cardboard box which has the nibs sticking out of it) and with a textured grip making it easier to hold.This makes it ideal for beginners, but also for more experienced calligraphers who appreciate the benefits of cartridges - okay, it's not as traditional as using a jar of ink, but it gives a constant flow of ink with no risk of splattering or uneven lines due to the ink running low on the nib. This is also ideal for people who have more limited dexterity.It's packaged entirely in recyclable cardboard, and made locally in the UK to a high standard which will last, so it's a very ecological choice.£21.99 is a very fair price for a British-made set of this quality. A wonderful gift for a beginner or even a more advanced calligrapher who isn't dedicated to tradition.

Calligraphy is very difficult for the beginer - as hard as taking up a new instrument. The set is very basic but all you really need in getting started apart from lined paper. There is a web address to give you access to a great deal of material.However, this material is fairly wide in nature and I would recomend that they put together a very basic but more complete guide to getting started and make this obvious. A printed insert in the box would also be welcomed. Not a bad set but be prepared to have to work hard and get very poor results until you have paractised for many, many hours

Another great pen set from Manuscript. This set includes one pen body with a lid, three nibs and two ink cartridges. These nibs are all broad in three different sizes. I have quite a few Manuscript pens, and this set is a great addition to the collection. I love drawing with them, and with this set you can get a great variation in line widths. The pen itself is a lovely shape, nice and long, which tapers thinner at the end. It's lovely to hold, but the lid doesn't post because of this.It's good value at £21.99 (price at time of review), but I do think there could have been an ink converter included for the price.All in all, I like the set very much, and have been using it a lot.
