Staedtler tends to be a little more expensive than other brands, but their pricing matches the quality they produce. This is my favorite lead brand - which happens to go with my favorite mechanical pencil. This refill fits my 0.3mm mechanical pencil perfectly and is a good lead when I desire a thin line. I can feel a difference when I write or draw with this vs an off brand - I have never experienced the scratchiness or drag that can plague other leads. This lead provides a consistent stroke, and erases cleanly. I don't use this size as often as I use the 0.5 or 0.7 sizes - I'm a little heavy-handed and this lead snaps frequently when I use it for daily activities. It's fantastic when I'm drawing and I am cognizant of the lead fragility and the pressure I am exerting - but not so much when I'm just writing normally to make grocery, or to-do lists. If I'm not paying attention, I can go through one of these refill tubes in a day...and that's a pricey lesson you only have to learn once! The refill arrived quickly.One thing to note: I also like this Pentel lead - and it is MUCH cheaper. I can't tell a difference in the 0.3mm size. It wasn't in stock when I needed to replace my lead and sadly couldn't wait for it to become available. Bottom Line: I will buy this again. Even the most prolific artist, or the "wordiest" scribe will have plenty of lead to keep them busy with the 12 pieces of lead contained in the protective little holder - it's nice to spend your time drawing or writing, rather than ordering additional product and waiting for it to arrive. I would recommend this - it is a supply I always have in my desk.
