This lock arrived in an almost seized state that was very hard to engage the shackle. I had to use a bit of wd40 before I could get the bar to lock in the shackle.It's a decent lock but masterlock really should pre lubricate these locks better from factory.

Item description said it was key retaining. I bought it because of this. It is NOT key retaining.

I have used 'Master' locks for years and all of them without any issues. We needed a new padlock for our shed and this Master does the job extremely well. I love the design of the brass body, it cleverly adds a lot to the lock's security. If you want a padlock that is secure and will work without issues, then consider buying this one.
