This MasterClass 20 x 20cm springform cake tin is incredibly light. Made from aluminium, which is a good conductor, it heats up quickly and homogeneously distributes heat which greatly improves the cooking of food in the oven, compared with other bakeware tins. It is also rust resistant so can be stored in the fridge/freezer without worrying about rusting. What I like most about this cake tin though is the easy release of the spring clip. This is so crucial when baking cheese cakes or similar cakes which can easily be spoiled at the last minute when taking it out of the baking dish. It is oven safe to 180°C which is fine as it is the most that is required for baking.Note: as it is made from natural aluminium, the tin will need to be lined with either parchment paper or silicone baking mats or traditional butter shortening and flour methods.Something else to be aware of is that aluminium will corrode in contact with acidic ingredients such as vinegar or tomato products so these should be avoided.I also like the fact that it is made from recycled aluminium and is itself recyclable, so good for the planet.At £16.99 at the time of writing this review, it is reasonably priced for what looks like a quality product.

Had a rough edge in one spot, but other than that it works as expected.

MasterClass recycled aluminium springform round cake tin, ideal to bake a large sponge cake in. This tin has the added benefit of instead of having to tip the cake out of the tin, you can just realise the catch at the side making it a lot easier to remove the cake from the tin.The tin is 20cm x 20cm and is made from 16 aluminium cans. The downside to this cake tin is because it is made out of aluminium the tin isn’t none stick so you will need to either line the tin with baking paper or grease really well so the cake doesn’t stick. Another downside I found with this tin is that is contains a lot of sharp edges on the base and near the catch. This tin is also hand wash only.Overall, I like that this tin recycled and can be recycled again once finished with but it does have some flaws.

As that’s the basic baking of cakes temp. Not sure if that will affect the longevity of this.But I like the ridged base and that it’s not coated with anything.

MasterClass Recycled Aluminium Springform Cake Tin is good for making cakes at home. It is made of recycled aluminum and is safe for use in the oven up to 180 degrees. It makes a 20cm cake. I use baking paper on the base, and it is very easy to clean. The quality could be a little bit better.
