I bought the grey version of this gauntlet quantity 2 to get a pair. I realised that heat is not something to dismiss after burning 2 fingers on my left hand in quick succession! We spend a lot on the cooker and the manual doesn't advise buying protection. £30 is nothing much after spending hundreds on a cooker and also the microwave oven. When it beeps and states open door, I used to open it immediately and put my bare hands inside to grab a casserole pot using a cloth, and I have reason to believe the interior was full of microwave energy or radiation. I am wearing these large gloves every time. They are good for grabbing the oven shelf and pulling it forward, grabbing a roasting tin handles, grabbing the casserole pot with excellent grip and waterproof. Microwave energy cooks food by vibrating water molecules, and hands need to be dry and protected against steam on the casserole pot and lid. I recommend this product, and it is large but better to get them on and off easily. I purchased from seller Auntie Morag of Somerset, England and it arrived in 5 days and perfect, excellent. Wish I had bought these silicone gauntlets when I bought my first microwave, but there was nothing in the manual suggesting hand protection. I suppose that is because the oven manufacturer doesn't supply the hand protection. I have seen the red version and think that would suit the ladies, the grey version looks more masculine.

These are exactly what I needed.Great length to cover my wrists as wellThese gloves have brilliant heat resistance as well as really thick cuffs (that are a great length for a deep oven) which saves me catching my wrists when I get things in and out.I also love the colour and it matches my navy kitchen perfectlyGood value I’d say - a really nice product - best oven gloves I’ve ever had for sure.

Okay, I know this is a LOT of silicon, and coming half way up the lower arm, then, with the wide cloth cuff, almost reaching the elbow - but is this really necessary?More problematic is, now, really, who lifts anything out of the oven with only one hand?Instinct is surely always to use two, even with something light, like cookies on a baking tray, to keep it level, at least.And of course, always with anything heavy like a casserole dish.Okay, I know this also exists as a more expensive joined oven glove.Personally I prefer to wear a pair of oven gloves, rather than the cloth joined version, which I assume only exists so one isn't hunting for a misplaced glove.A pair of singles with this, would be a lot of money.I have small hands, and found this a little large and unwieldy at the requested small size.Yes the silicon is brilliant for heat protection, but my single, cloth only, traditional pair of over gloves work perfectly for me at a fraction of the price - less for a pair, than the price of even a single one of these
