, unfortunately i made the mistake of not checking on the size before i ordered. It is a 2 cup size,and ideal if you only want a small pot.

This was a replacement purchase, for one I put on the hob and cracked. Weight is essential in a ceramic teapot: the heavier it is, the more warmth it will retain. On a tea-light with a cosy, this pot will increase in warmth, which can eventually stew the tea. But hot, stewed tea is better than tepid, weak tea.The pot is squatter than I expected, but boasts an internal ceramic strainer, which reduces the need to use one for pouring beverage made from loose tea, and as good as eliminates the need if it's Earl Grey or another coarse blend you prefer. The pot holds 1 litre of water (1 litre of whatever you pour into it, in fact). That's good for 4 mugs of tea, or 6 cups.My shopping experience was long and arduous, however. The firms selling teapots on Amazon are sometimes oblivious to the features that will sway a purchase to the one or the other model, and they often say nothing about the one thing you're looking for, whether it's a strainer, or a heavy or light model (for the aged, for instance), how the lid is restrained when tipping, or indeed how much water will even go into it.Plain white ceramic wouldn't be up there on my gifting list. For a few euros more, you can get some truly beautiful decorative teapots on Amazon.
