Fine tool for the price. If you screw in the vertical bar it will lock the magnet. Just turn it out a little and tighten the screw: solved.It is slightly top heavy and having the second arm extended completely it will tip over. Then maybe a more solid base under it.

het gebrek aan stabiliteit van de gewrichten van dit statief is bedroevend slecht . Deze zijn gemaakt van goedkoop geperst plaatstaal ( massief is hier wenselijk).Statieven van Moore & Wright of Mitutoyo zijn echt beter uitgevoerd.Meetklokje is wel ok.

Probably not a professional tool, but for the home mechanic a great tool at a great price.
