I can't comment if it actually zooms to the stated magnification, but it does zoom quite a bit.I'm not techncial enough to know how to properly use a microscope, but in terms of focus, there are a few focus points while going through the zoom range (if the subject is right at the bottom of the microscope. I have no problem finding the perfect zoom/focus for the subject.I used mine off my windows computer, and just used the camera app. Click swap camera, to go from my webcam to this.I was hoping I can use this for things like seeing splinters to remove, or things that requires magnification while I work on it, so I can see it without bringing out my magnifier glass. But the zoom is too much, and the area it focuses on is so tiny that I can't really use this for that purpose.Overall I'm impressed with it, but just haven't found a use for it yet.
