Meike 85mm F1.8 lens is opgebouwd uit negen elementen in zes groepen en heeft meerlaagse coatings op de voor- en achterelementen.
CA (Chromatische Aberratie) is opmerkelijk goed geregeld in het diafragmabereik. Het is zeer onwaarschijnlijk dat CA als een probleem zal worden gezien en als verdere correctie ooit nodig is, kunnen we natuurlijk kijken naar softwareoplossingen.
Het is een gewassensorcamera, deze 85mm lens staat gelijk aan ongeveer een 135mm lens
Middelgrote telefoto
Goed koppelen aan de gemiddelde brandpuntsafstand van de telefoto is een f/1.8 maximaal diafragma dat het gebruik bij weinig licht mogelijk maakt en een grotere controle over de scherptediepte ondersteunt voor selectieve scherpstelregeling.

I tested this lens for about ten minutes and immediately booked a return, because of serious issues with the autofocus. The lens even crashed and stopped autofocussing, and was seeking back and forth violently in a lot of circumstances. BUT! there's a firmware update to version 1.2 on Meike's web site (mkgrip.com). Install that, and the focus system works a lot better. Need to test it more, but the lens has nice bokeh and good centre sharpness, with lots of CA (expected for a cheap lens).

Non voglio essere eccessivamente severo nella mia recensione perché resta un obiettivo veramente economico ma la qualità costruttiva è veramente bassa e l’auto focus fatica molto in condizioni di luce mancante o eccessiva, arrivando persino al crash in un’occasione. La lente non sarebbe nemmeno pessima sebbene non abbia una grandissima nitidezza, rovinata però da importanti aberrazioni cromatiche, il bokeh invece è molto piacevole. Consiglio se non si hanno grandissime pretese e se si ha l’occasione di usarlo soprattutto su soggetti non in forte movimento o preferibilmente fermi e in condizioni di luce ottimale. Segnalo inoltre che sul mio esemplare, probabilmente difettato, il paraluce fatica molto ad entrare in sede. Consiglio comunque di orientarsi su ottiche più rinomate usate In quanto non ci sarà una grandissima differenza di prezzo, provvederò ad effettuare il reso soprattutto per il difetto del paraluce.

it’s cheap but if you can afford the g master or the sony then go for it…although this one really works perfectly fine.

This lens has flaws like chromatic aberration at wide apertures but goes away at f2 - f2.8. What I like with this lens is, of course, the price and also good for portraiture coz of the shallow depth of field. The bokeh is very smooth. Also, I was able to use it on low light scenes (like in a bowling center). The colors are crisp. It also fits with one my photography genre which is landscape. It's not perfect or comparable to other high end 85 mm lenses, but for the price, it's worth it. I find this lens fun to use. It's always attached to my Sony A7IV most of the time.

I am always glad to see more lenses on the market. Especially with new brands and thought i might test the meike 85mm 1.8 out.I have multiple 85mm lenses and like to compare them. So i made several shootings now with this lense and its very light and the AF-works very good. Tested on a Sony a7iii, Sony a7iv and Sony a1.This lense combines a good bokeh with an affordable price. Especially for fullframe cameras lenses with 1.8 aperture can be very expensive. After several shootings i am still very happy with this purchase!For everyone who wants a great lense to get into portrait photography with prime lenses this is the way to go!Updated: now after months still satisfied! If something will not work i will update it here.
