This is used by my son. It allows him to get a deep bass sound. (Almost like using his hand.)It spares his hands during long sessions without sacrificing the tone he likes.If you consider the foam, the rubber band and the rubber ring. There is a so many adjustment you can make, you are certain to find the sound you're looking for.

I am not a percussionist, but sometimes the gig calls for it. I used these with a Meinl cajon to great effect. Having the foam beater is a great feature. I found you could strike with just a beater for a bass drum thump, but you could also strike the cajon with the brush tip and beater for a woody thwack. Being able to slide the beaters around allows you a lot of on the fly adjustment. Since the brushes are plastic, they are not very loud for brush slides or scrapes as one might do with a wire brush on a snare.The foam beaters tend to slide down as you play, so the more aggressive you are, the more likely it is your beater will slide off. You could probably fix them in position with some electrical tape. The brush bristles also start to get an angle after moderate playing.The brushes have a small rubber band to allow for tighter packing, but this too will fly off. It was by miracle alone that I was able to find the tiny black rubber bands on the floor of the bar in which I was playing. This too could be replaced easily.Since I am not a drummer, I don’t have a stick bag, but these did fit right in the back of the cajon easily.
