What a lovely drum! I'm playing it as a Bodhran, so I've detuned it until the skin is only just taut, but the sound is great - plenty of depth, plenty of resonance, very responsive to left-hand-pressure to vary the tone etc.I know the Bodhrans are supposed to have a cross brace (and not have a thumb hole in the side) but it works for me, and for the rest of the band, and the audience seem to like it too! For my playing style I don't miss the cross brace one bit.And what a relief to have a natural goat skin head with all its gentle variations yet to be able to adjust it as it tightens and loosens over the evening. No more pouring on Guinness and/or hand cream for me! A simple Allen key and a few seconds tweaking and I've got exactly the tone I want.And its nice to look at as well - nice burl pattern to the wood.Note: Doesn't come with any sort of bag. Get one, just to keep it safe, especially in transit!Excellent Quality - Very Happy - Highly Recommended.
