Having a large household with often 7-8 family members at one time means bing fill up extremely quickly and are often over filled. Thanks to the great British weather the lids also have a habit of blowing open allowing cats to get at the bags inside.Using this strap means I can keep the lid firmly closed until collection day. They are made from good quality material with some heavy duty metal hooks on either end. Quick and easy to put on and take off when needed.

Our grey paper and carboard wheelie bin lid is always getting blown open in the wind and leaves etc drop into it - or it gets blown over in the wind and scatters its contents all over the place.I tried putting a bungee cord over the lid to hold it down but that doesnt stay on very well - then I spotted this - absolutely brilliant - its a lot heavier and robust than it looks in the pictures its a real heavy duty strap and has chunky heavy metal hooks at each end - they are covered in a rubber/plastic to stop them damaging your bin lid or getting rusty I suppose.Really easy to fit and a doddle to tighten; plenty of elasticity in the strap without being too much - feels very secure - cant imagine anything getting in or out of this bin when its got this strap on it - wish I had got one ages ago.It says it is UV resistant and weather resistant so we will see how it copes with the British weathers fluctuations.

This is excellent and worth every penny as it more than does the job of keeping my bin lid tightly shut. I live in the UK so was hoping it would be okay with our standard wheelie bins, and it is as it perfectly fits them either longways from handle to lip or crossways from lip to lip. I need it to stop the wind lifting the lid (and to stop it clattering at night when I’m trying to sleep), and to keep inquisitive cats and opportunistic seagulls at bay. That it’s both chew-resistant and can withstand 100lbs of animal force is great, and very much what I’m looking for.It’s incredibly quick and easy to put on, and when properly adjusted it doesn’t half keep the lid tightly pinned down, so right enough animals and the wind aren’t going to stand a chance. It’s great too if the wind tips the bin as the contents won’t spill out. Another advantage is that the strap is weather and UV resistant, and combined with it being strong and durable, is hopefully going to last me for a long time.I think this is a superb product that just about anybody with a wheelie bin could find a use for, as with it being adjustable to a very good degree it’ll fit all manner of bins. As such, I wholeheartedly recommend this and may even get another one for our other bin. It certainly beats trying to weight the lids down with bricks.

Very sturdy clip that, combined with pushing the handle right down to ‘lock’ our food waste bin fully, seems to have stopped foxes from opening our food waste bin by turning it on its side and thrashing it around. I had to cut, shorten and resew the strap to fit our smaller caddy, so the manufacturers might want to consider selling a shorter strapped option for people who need to secure smaller waste bins?Also the foxes were able to chew through the strap a little, so I might try spraying it with some anti-fox spray to put them off further. But so far, so good…

Simple idea and keeps the lids from blowing open when we have a windy period.
