Although this device is advertised as USB 2.0 100Mbit/s network adapter - chip used on the USB interface side is actually only 10Mbit (basically USB 1.0 or 1.1 from year ~1996).I tested speed with command line version of speedtest - fiber connection at home, UTP cabling does 1Gbit/s. And as it stands - built-in wifi on raspberry pi zero W does 5-10Mbit/s for DL/UL, while this device usually get's only ~3Mbit/s for DL, and 4~5 Mbit/s for UL.After such results I searched "raspberry pi zero slow usb network adapter", hoping that there's some settings/driver/etc to improve the situation. Instead of that I only came across countless forums/reddit/etc that mention exactly the chip used in this device (9700 ICS Advent DM9601) is the cause, because it's actually USB 1.0/1.1.Oh and that red LED other reviews mentioned - is actually making basically half of device glow red. Which I wouldn't mind (easily fixed with duct tape) if this device was doing at least 50Mbit/s.

It works straight away on my pi zero w. As many people mentioned it does have a bright red led that flashes to let you know there is network activity. It's quite annoying and distracting but very easy to fix. Do this at your own risk. I used a sharp knife to cut the stickers on the sides and then carefully prised open the case. You can see the small surface mounted led nr circuit board.All you need to do is colour it in with a permanent marker. Put it all back together, seal it with a bit of clear tape and everything is now right in the world

der Kundenkreis dieses Adapters dürfte relativ klein sein. Und zwar noch kleiner als der eh schon kleine Kundenkreis eines PiZero (w). Dazu ist das Teil noch relativ teuer - ein ZeroW kostet 20€, da ist das Teil hier mit 10€ nicht günstig.ABER: Es funktioniert einfach auf Anhieb zB mit RaspbianOS. Konfiguriert sich zwar automatisch nur als 10Mbit/s, aber 1. reicht das für die meisten Projekte wie Pi-Hole / Unbound und um ein paar Dateien zu kopieren vollkommen aus und 2. kann man es mit etwas gefrickel auch auf 100Mbit/s bringen.Alternativ kann man natürlich WLAN nutzen. Aber ich bin da altmodisch und lege Wert auf 100% Zuverlässigkeit bei DNS Anfragen im LAN.Einziger Kritikpunkt: das Teil blinkt wie ein Weihnachtsbaum, sobald es aktiv wird.

Mi MMDVM basado en Pi Zero ahora se conecta a mi red sin ningún problema.
