Good stripping knife for my borders, they are elderly now and I do not hand strip as that is painful. This knife keeps their coat relatively tidy of dead hair when they are shedding in spring and autumn.

This item is metal grooming comb/blade with a bamboo handle, interesting being of riveted half-tang construction so should remain firmly in place for a good long while. The toothed section of the blade is rather short, although that way it will never pick up so much hair at once that it is in danger of a hopeless tangle; however it will require a rather compliant subject to be willing to stay still long enough to go over an entire coat, particularly on large dogs. Perhaps a little pricey, but definitely solid and useful for its intended task.

This is a brilliant comb to help with handstripping my border terrier and has made the process alot quicker. However, if you didn't know what you were doing you may be tempted to simply comb through the fur which would then pull out the dense undercoat - which you world not want to do by any means.There are instructions on the back of packaging the comb comes with 👍🏻 Following these, the comb works great. My dog is happy to let me use it. A great price too.

The Bamboo handle on this stripping knife is easy to handle as well as being lightweight and comfortable. The blade is small and I feel the handle and blade are easy to keep under control during use. The blade is riveted into the handle and is made of stainless steel with coarse teeth. These coarse teeth are great for the longer areas of the dogs coat.I have a spaniel and an Old English Sheep dog, both with long shaggy hair, and found the blade to be very sharp and it worked very well on my dogs' type of fur. I have used it a few times and cleaned it in soapy water and there is no sign of rusting, so the stainless steel is good quality. It is great for getting rid of the dead hair from my dog's coat and it felt like just giving her a brush. She rather enjoyed the experience. It is a tool which will be handy during the warmer summer months when there is a need to thin out the remnants of the old winter coat. A good quality item and well worth the price.
