With the recent hot weather, my labrador is shedding her fur all over the place and its not necessarily just the undercoat. I have been using a furminator every other day, but still my carpets were covered in black dog hairs. I ended up taking my dog to the local groomers and when she came back - her fur just gleamed, plus when I combed her - no hair came out. Basically - she looked fabulous. I asked the groomers what they used and they told me it was a rubber mitt - hence purchasing one on Amazon the next day. There appears to be quite a difference between the Furminator and the rubber mitt as the furminator is good at removing the actual undercoat, but when it comes to the courser hair - this tends to remain on the dog. With the rubber mitt - I have found that this removes the courser hair by the bucket load! In addition - the dog's coat just gleams after using it.I am personally delighted with this purchase and will use it in conjunction with the Furminator - for example - Furminator first to remove the undercoat and then the rubber mitt. The dog is very happy with me using it on her. I use the slightly longer " 3 split pimple" side first which really strips away the courser hairs and then the rounded pimple side on the reverse of the glove that really gives a beautiful shine to the hairs. Getting the hairs out of the glove is a bit of a pain, so as other reviewers have recommended - I use the hoover wand and this works like a treat. The mitt is also very comfortable on the hand and can easily be used by left or right handed people. I would have no hesitation in recommending this product and its an absolute joy to see my carpets looking a pale beige rather then a sludge grey!

This is good at removing hair from our animals but it is quite difficult to remove the hair from the brush afterwards, otherwise a great addition to the grooming kit.

super brush. Particularly on my Bassets ears, which need a bit of refreshing as they often get wet. Have no idea how it works on long haired dogs but is excellent for short hair. She looks so silky. My only problem is she thinks it's a toy, but she feels the same about the tv controls, actually she thinks the same about everything. Wish I had got it earlier really good brush.
