The red locking screw on these Milwaukee locking grip pliers is a great feature. You can grab hold of the surface you want to grip on with the pliers. Then you can use a screwdriver or other implement that will fit through the hole at the end of the red locking screw to really tighten down on the surface. This makes a great force multiplier that you could never achieve by squeezing the handles when you lock on the surface. I used this tool to grab the mounting screws on to the trailing arm links on my Honda Accord Coupe when the hex socket end on the mounting bolt stripped out. These worked great and did not slip when applying torque to the frozen on nut.
