The server arrived today. I was surprised at the quality of the case. Sturdy aluminum brushed thick case. The components are well put together. Server so far is running well. An extra fan case and beter cpu cooler might be needed. It does run a bit hot at idle when put flat. Like stated in the description if you put up sideways, cooling is beter.

Bought the 64GB/1Tb unit now almost 2 years ago.It was a great little server, although under Windows Server 2019 it froze intermittently. The case was very hot all the time, so cooling is an issue. Some weeks ago, it froze for the last time, and it turned out to be terminal.Although it was a very sturdy design and nice performing little system, the lack of cooling (as an educated guess) was its Waterloo.

Ottimo mini pc, l'ho configurato come mini server. Molto silenzioso e molto potente. Il venditore ha sempre risposto alle mie domande e la spedizione ha rispettato i tempi di consegna dichiarati.

I was looking at getting some compact server to run VM’s on and came across this little unit here on Amazon. It’s marketed as a mix of server, gaming and mining PC. I think it’s more of a powerful PC/light server but not for gaming or mining.Yes, it comes in two flavors:- The BM28 with a GTX1650 4GB video card- The BM29 with a Quadro K620 2GB video cardOtherwise the two models are identical:- CPU: Xeon D-1581 (16-core @ 1.8 GHz - burst up to 2.4 GHz)- Up to 64 GB DRR4 RAM (2666MHz PC4-21300 SODIMM)- 2x M.2 slots (1x nVMe,1x nVMe/SATA)- 1x SATA- 4x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0- LAN Port, Wifi (AC)Build:The units are nicely designed in a naked, brushed aluminum housing. The system board is mounted upside down, on the top panel. The memory slots are easily reachable to install the RAMSame goes for the the 2 M.2 slots.Everything is well marked. If you want to install a 2.5” drive, it is mounted on the bottom plate (screws included)All in all, a well contructed and though of unit.Performance:One could think that due to the low Clock frequency, you’d end up with pretty poor performance.Well, this is where the 16 cores come into play.Sure, there will be apps that require a high clock frequency and are less dependent on multiple cores.Fortunately, most modern apps are using multi threading which will make optimal use of the cores.I bought the BM29, ordered 64GB Ram (Hynix) and installed a 256GB nVMe, a 2TB M.2 SATA and a 2TB 2.5” sata drive.I then installed Windows 11 which ran very smoothly and installed some music software (Studio One, Cubase , a handful of plugins)All ran very well with some semi large songs (35 tracks)Remark:The Xeon D-1581 is not new and dates back to 2016 so there are some thing to consider. As some may have read, Windows 11 doesn’t run on older hardware because it requires the tpm2 chipset and older hardware tend to only have tpm1.x.That includes these two units (BM28 and BM29)There are however easy ways around this that you can find on the internet and you would need to tweak the BIOS a bit.As mentioned, I could easily install Win11 in this unit.

Exceptional value for anyone looking for a powerful, versatile, and silent server solution at an affordable price point. Its performance, coupled with its low noise and energy consumption, makes it an ideal addition to one's home lab.

El PC combina sencillez con un tamaño muy reducido. A la vez el procesador Xion le da grandes prestaciones con una fiabilidad más que probada.
