Productbeschrijving

The Mission Darkness FreeRoam Faraday Belt Bag is a stylish waist pack perfect for travel and everyday wear. The large interior compartment is lined with two discreet layers of TitanRF Faraday Fabric, a high-shielding material that blocks radio frequencies (RF) and electromagnetic fields (EMF). This includes WiFi (2.4 & 5GHz), Bluetooth, cell signals including 5G networks, GPS, RFID, NFC, and radio signals with 60dB-80dB average attenuation from low MHz to 5GHz spectrum. When a cell phone is enclosed in the bag, no apps or malicious code can be remotely triggered or wiped, no communication can penetrate, and no one can access the microphone, camera, GPS location, or data. The shielded compartment also provides a barrier between your body and harmful EMF radiation and pollution emanating from cell phones or other devices inside. The shielded compartment utilizes a NeoLok magnetic closure, making it easy to access contents inside. The magnetic seal rolls closed and is contained inside of the bag, which has an additional outer zipper seal. The bag is constructed with a protective water-resistant exterior, plus two unshielded front zipper compartments to store accessories. To wear, simply clip the bag around your body for hands-free carrying. The adjustable band can be clipped around the waist, worn like a sling over the shoulder, or attached to an object. Primary uses are for defense against data theft, personal security, EMP protection, EMF radiation reduction, law enforcement and military forensic evidence collection, and to enhance digital privacy. The bag is typically used to shield cell phones, passports, credit cards, GPS units, transponders, transmitters, two-way radios, keyfobs, smart watches, and similar size electronics.

This is a great product. I accomplishes it's goal well; however, with some sacrifices. My testing showed that the protective faraday compartment completely blocked all wireless signal from and to the phone. The bag is comfortable and has nice touch features like an elastic strap on each side of the bag strap, this makes it so you don't have the excess strap flopping all over when you wear it. The straps are quite long and accommodate a fairly large person (40" waist) easily. The downside is that you sacrifice accessibility and capacity for the protection. The faraday pocket requires you to roll and fold and tuck the pouch compartment each time you access the main pocket. This takes up a lot of space in the main pocket and takes time each time you access it. This is the general approach all faraday pouches takes though so it's apparently necessary. As such I didn't reduce the starts for that downside, but it's worth being aware of because you won't get nearly as much into this pack as you expect to based on the size. Over-all very happy with the pack and will use it again when traveling.

Always call your cell to check that it is truly unreachable since about half the time it was not fully shielded. Nowadays I have resorted to using safety pins to ensure a tight seal and this is REALLY DIFFICULT since the material is very hard to pierce. I don't think that this is a good idea but until I can find a better work around, then this will have to do.

Not as bulky as I thought it might be. Mission Darkness makes very good quality items. I have an electrosmog meter and I also tested with their phone app, and the bag does a great job of blocking the RF signals. I didn't test it with WiFi on but no need. If it works for the phone, it works for the WiFi.One thing I need to understand better though, is how I can have a video playing on my phone, I put it in the bag while the video is going, and after I seal the bag the video continues to play and I can listen to it, but the meter shows the RF emissions going from a high of 50.something spikes, down to .0005 or .0010. There is something I'm missing. But anyway, being sensitive to EMFs, I am definitely feeling better keeping my phone in the bag most of the day while I'm working and not using it.
