This version of the micrometer will read in millimetres down to microns of course. Whereas the current Imperial version will convert to metric, this micrometer does not have a convert button. The older version 293-605, whilst being a 0-25mm variant did have an option to convert to thou's.Whilst generally being made to the exceptional Mitutoyo standard, it is slightly disappointing that they have reverted to a plastic thimble button
