Bought two 6 port antique copper birdseed feeders to hang on metal pole near a small pond outside of kitchen window.Replaced 2 wornout cedar feeders of same length and # of ports. I used Audobon feed, the cheap stuff. Took 2 days for them to discover, now theres 2-3 customers on each feeder whenever I look out my window. I moved it 3-4 feet away from pond. Can't really explain how they designed this so that the seed doesn't overflow out of the holes but it doesn't. There are hor. tubes connecting each pr of holes and so it controls the amount of feed going to each hole I guess. I just know it is the cleanest underneath those feeders than it has been with other ones. Also, the tube looks like glass, but it's plastic...very good quality. Top lid slides up handle and stays up until you pull it down. Might go to $dollar tree and buy a clear salad bowl and melt 2 holes in top of it to feed onto the handle for keeping rain out but it hasn't rained yet so don't know if I'll need it. I bring mine down to refill. Lid slides up about 2-3 inches but also handle pivots 90 degrees making filling super easy and not a seed came out of feeder holes while filling. Get this. The antique copper looks really good. ...2 wks later: Rained today. No issues. Have gone through 15# of seed in 2 wks. Finches compete with cowbirds. Robins haven't touched it, but they're probably liking worms better. Length of perches are just fine.
