Firstly, as stated in description, this is a compatible cable. The pictured item, clearly showing the part number was useful but it is not the one received.The sheathed harness is thicker and stiffer than the original and I did feel uneasy bending it to the same radius as the original (essential to the routing on this particular HP laptop)I struggled initially to locate the white plug into the socket. It would just not go in.I then realised that again, unlike the original, it has two lugs - one either side. I shaved one off with a sharp knife.See pic of original.As far as longevity goes, I don't know yet, but the laptop is now charging and all is well in the world, aside from the fact (which may not bother some) that it is made in China. But my hands are tied; maybe I should get a position at Apple Daily in HK.

Had an old HP Laptop stop charging. I matched the part number to the one in the description. Went ahead and purchased. A few days later I installed the charging element and it works good as new.
