nach 12 Jahren Baumarkt-Briefkasten haben wir einen schicken, aber praktischen Briefkasten gesucht.Gar nicht so einfach: Designerbriefkästen sind oft unpraktisch.Dann haben wir diesen Briekasten gefunden, der unsere Erwartungen optisch übertroffen hat, als wir ihn ausgepackt haben.Er ist sein Geld allemal Wert - sehr gut verarbeitet, wirkt er an der Hauswand stylisch (egal ob Klinker oder Putzfassade).Darüber hinaus passen DinA4-Umschläge und Zeitungen hinein - eine separate Zeitungsrolle ist überflüssig (gibt's für diesen Briefkasten auch dazu, wenn man will). Das seitliche Schloß ist auch von der Haustür gut zu erreichen und die Post zu entnehmen ohne nach draussen treten zu müssen; vorausgesetzt der Kasten hängt nah genug an der Haustür. Praktisch auch der Rausfallschutz im Kasten.

Build quality is very good, the whole thing is powder coated and the removable internal base is stainless steel - it looks classy - The lock and seals are good quality. Installation needs a hammer drill and masonry bit and a screwdriver - a spirit level helps as well.The kit includes a full sized template and all the bits you need - screws and plugs, standoffs etc. Our house is stone built so the walls aren't smooth. This make fitting a bit harder since I had to chisel a couple of lumps off the wall and adjust the length of one of the standoffs to compensate for a broader bulge!. Even on a smooth wall you have to use the standoff or the lid can't open properly. A second pair of hands to hold the box steady while you get the screws and standoffs into position is really helpful!The box has been in place for a year in a place where rain can get to it. In that time the only reason a few bits of post have been damp is because they were damp before the postie put them in! The slit at the top can take an A4 magazine sideways and it nigh on impossible to get fingers in and pull something out - the monkey/peanuts in a jar trap!I've read a complaint about the lock failing and hence it being impossible to get the box back off the wall. Having used the box for so long I would offer the following comments;I thought my lock had jammed but after some experimentation I realised that the door is so well fitting (so that the door is firmly held against the seals) so it remains watertight. My solution is to press the door closed (fairly gently) near the lock when locking it. If you do find the lock has jammed so you can't access the fixing screws and so can't send the box back for a replacement/refund, then although it's going to be fiddly there is enough room to get a hacksaw blade between the back of the box and the wall and saw through each of the screws.This is definitely not a cheap box, but the money has gone into build quality and waterproofing and not just flashy design. I have no regrets buying it!

Erst war ich skeptisch, weil der Baumarkt um die Ecke ebenso ganz passable Kästen hatte und zudem erheblich günstiger. Wir haben uns zunächst für diesen hier entscheiden, weil wir die Ähnlichkeit zu unserer Hauseingangstür sahen.Kasten kam schnell und ausreichend gut verpackt. Richtig begeistert waren wir aber erst von Qualität, Verarbeitung und Montageanleitung! Hat alles toll geklappt, sieht sehr gut aus und wir sind uns einig: WIR WÜRDEN IHN WIEDER KAUFEN! ...auch für diesen Preis!
