This toy offers more than I expected it might. It will encourage development and afford increasing stimulation as development continues. The fish are sized to be easily grasped by small hands. They are soft to the touch and enhanced with rather quiet rattles and softened crinkling noises, more likely to stimulate than startle. A younger child who might not be able to manage the fishing pole initially will likely find it easier to manage as developmental progression continues over time. The colorful mat and fish draw the little one’s attention and encourage their engagement. The numerous pieces are easily stored in the provided pouch. My expectation is that this toy will maintain a child’s interest longer than most, providing a couple years interest in playing before the child needs more challenging toys.
