Avendo il bagno piuttosto piccolo, la tazza è disposta molto vicina al muro da un fianco, questo comporta lo spostamento laterale del copriwater ogni qualvolta che ci si siede. Stanco delle rotture frequenti di quelle classiche in lega di zinco, ho deciso di provare queste in acciaio.E' fondamentale essere a conoscenza della distanza tra i due fori sul sedile e sul coperchio in corrispondenza degli attacchi, perché la misura tra un foro e l'altro per questi supporti è di 22,5 mm, mentre la superficie della cerniera a contatto con la tavoletta è lunga 5 cm. Io ho dovuto forare nuovamente la tavoletta, ma solo i fori superiori perché ho recuperato quelli in prossimità della base, coprendo i precedenti con la cerniera stessa. Per facilitare l'ingresso delle viti nel legno ho fatto dei piccoli buchi con una punta da 2 del trapano mentre i fori asolati nelle maglie hanno permesso il serraggio completo alla tavoletta.In tutto il montaggio è durato una ventina di minuti e devo ammettere che la chiavetta in dotazione per avvitare i bulloni è stata di grande aiuto. Come si vede in foto, le istruzioni presenti sul retro della confezione sono chiare ed intuitive.Al momento non ho riscontrato alcun segno di corrosione o di cedimento, tutto il copriwater rimane ben saldo alla tazza senza sfuggire a destra e a sinistra come faceva prima dopo appena un mese di utilizzo, ero costretto ad avvitare di continuo le farfalle di plastica, credo che questi bulloni sono decisamente più sicuri. Ad ogni modo mi riservo di aggiornare la mia recensione in futuro in caso di cattive sorprese.Per concludere, con una spesa di appena 5 euro in più rispetto alle classiche cerniere in lega, non credo ne debba più acquistare altre col rischio di allargare i buchi ogni volta che smonto e rimonto e di conseguenza, seppure ho dovuto apportare alcune modifiche, posso sperare di aver recuperato definitivamente il mio vecchio sedile WC risparmiando sul costo di uno nuovo.

These are stainless steel hinges so they're unlikely to rust and won't bubble, which has to be a good thing. However I went for them because I hoped they'd be more durable than the kind that start slipping and falling apart after anything from a few months to a year or so. They are. The photos don't show how well they're constructed.The first plus is that the hinges themselves can't split apart once they're in place. Anyone who's had the seat hinge fail because bits started loosening or disconnecting will know what a bonus this is. Then the rod underneath is fixed in such a way that it's flexible about placement but it can't come out or come off like the screw on ones so no worry about fixing them in, it's done already. Lastly there's a piece above and four pieces that fit onto the rod below (and a special nut tightener) that means you can fasten these as tightly as you like to the toilet bowl, acone shaped rubber insert stops any damage from underneath and there's a sturdy protective lipped piece of plastic above that the fittings sit in rather than on like the usual chrome hinges have.The only minuses (I don't count a slightly higher price a minus when they're as solidly constructed and built to last as these are) are that you'll almost certainly need to drill new holes for the hinges, they aren't standard - which will be a lot easier if you have a second person holding the lidsteadily in position to mark the holes - I didn't. It's possible, but it's a faff. And the instructions are pictorial and minute to the point of uselessness. But these small points aside these are the best loo hinges I've come across and well worth the price.I spent a couple of minutes working out the order the pieces should go on the rod and decided on soft cone, metal washer, hard plastic piece, metal nut, which seems to work and holds everything rock solid.
