Seeing as the creator of the only competing product for this has gone dark and stopped fulfilling orders, Musou Black is now the only option on the market.I have read all the reviews before pulling the trigger, and my conclusion is that many of them are very exaggerated(either that, or they made positive changes to the formula).Let's address a few of the usual points:Smell: No, it does not stink up the room like a poison cloud when you open it. If you stick your nose right up to the jar and sniff, it smells very, very mildly chemical, but nothing that you wouldn't get from any special acrylic paint.Is it really as black as they say?: Yes. Yes it is. Even when applied with a paint brush, it is incredibly black. The images attached are Musou Black on a discarded miniature(I used a primer that was way too thick so the details washed out, still fine for this test) and my normal acrylic black on the figure I was partway through painting. I tried my best to capture side by side pictures of the model in normal lighting and with direct lighting without making it too biased in either direction, but catching it right on images is very hard. What I can say is that with a light shining directly on it, Musou Black performs incredibly. When light is shining directly on it up close, it has a sort of velvet-like look, like a really clean velvet coat. However, where my normal paint reflects light and causes "light spots" reflecting back at me, Musou Black has none visible.Is it really fragile?: Sadly yes. I don't know what exactly is in it, and I am in no way a scientist, but based on my observations and looking at it with 25x magnification, it appears that the completely dark surface is a result of a very fine pigment that also coats the surface after it dries out. This means that any touch does sadly wipe away this coat. It is still a very deep dark after the surface coating has been damaged, but it isn't going to be 99.4% light absorbing anymore. This does mean that touching the item won't strip the paint, but it can damage the very "the dark abyss stares into your soul" vibe that you will want from an ultrablack. This is something I hope they will discover a solution to in the future, but for now, Musou Black is the ONLY player on the market, and I am definitely not mad at the results, even with the fragility.Is it worth it?: Absolutely. Looking at product pictures, it's easy to imagine Musou Black as a tiny little jar akin to Citadel paints, but it's worth remembering that 100ml is actually a lot of paint. Those small Citadel jars are usually 12ml, so this is more than 8 times as much paint, making the price very reasonable. As I have said, there is no competition on the market currently.Is it easy to apply?: As evident from my demo pics, I am not good at painting yet. That said, I think it is, yes. I didn't feel I needed to thin it at all.Is it good for props?: Only if you hate yourself. This is art paint, not prop paint. As said, it's fragile. If you are planning to paint small details on a prop, you can do that, or if you are going to paint something that will never be touched, you definitely can. However, don't expect to 3D print some sort of "Blade of the Void" and paint the entire thing, you are gonna have a bad day.Am I happy with the paint?: Yes. I bought it expecting to have absolutely no use for it because of how fragile it supposedly is, but I would actually be okay using this in part for D&D miniatures(or Warhammer if that's your thing). I just need to keep in mind not to touch the model and instead lift it by the base and it will probably be fine.

筆塗りでムラがあるようでも乾くとフラットになるのでとても綺麗に仕上がりました。ただ、天体望遠鏡の斜鏡の裏側やネジなど凸凹がある部分に使ったのだが、完全に真っ黒を期待したけど室内灯で分かる反射はあるのでやや残念。重ね塗りするといいのか検討中です。でも五つ星に相応しい商品です。水性ですが作業中に誤ってズボンを汚してしまいました。落とすのにかなりゴシゴシやらないといけないので要注意です
