Well, not as nice as the CAD rendering of the product they show, but...nice enough. This class of thing -- convertible pedals -- have proven super-useful to our family; with-or-without cycling shoes.I don't 5-star-rate anything, but for this price, it seems unreasonable to be withholding.like:- Pretty nicely-made/nicely finished. Surprisingly, actually. Not-at-all crappy. I'm a cyclist, these are legit.- Reasonably light, ~300 grams/set.- Decent-looking- Stainless metal bits (seems, but can't be 100% sure).- Comes with cleats! Dude!dislike:- Axles have a lot of resistance. They'll probably loosen a bit with use, but still, Campagnolo bearings these are not.- "Nylon fiber" body = plastic. Hard plastic, and probably fine over time.value: Quite excellent! ~$33 at time of this review, decent pedals with cleats; done.in sum: Yep, I'd buy these and recommend them. Are the ideal for a $2,000+ bike? Of course not. But I'd be okay with these on a $1K bike, or any bike that was going to see use with sneakers.

I've seen several of the reviewers give good reviews of these pedals. I'm going to be honest and say that I got these pedals to have my son practice with them before moving to clipless pedals. Pedals are known to be very rider specific. Bikes don't come with them any more if you dont buy them at a big box store because bike makers know that riders will replace them with pedals that they like rather than the ones that the manufacturers are willing to put on at the factory. My son has asked to try clipless pedals but finding the right pair of clipless pedals can be a chore, so rather than spending > $150 for shoes and pedals just to find that he doesn't really like the feel of riding clipped in, I ordered these so he can try them on our trainer. He's practiced clipping in and out and now feels comfortable with the Shimano system. I'm planning on moving these to a bike so that he can practice riding with them. Once he's got a couple of weeks just riding in the neighborhood, I'll order some higher level pedals to put on his trail bike. These pedals look to be decently made but I'm not entirely sure I want to test both the pedal strength and my son's ability to ride them at the same time. Last thing we would want is for the pedal to fail during a descent on a trail leading to injury so my review is to say that these works as clipless, Shimano style pedals that can be used to practice with. I can't say that I can review their ability to take hard compressions on a technical trail or one that has jumps or drops.

6-month update:These have become my favorite non-namebrand pedals for road riding. I've put many miles on them and no signs of bearing play so far. I did initially run into an issue with one pedal not properly accepting my genuine shimano SPD cleats, but I took some pliers and forced them open a number of times. Clip-ins gradually improved after a few rides, and eventually they were just to my liking. So there may be a bit of a break-in period, depending on your cleats. Make sure you loosen the tension adjuster all the way if you have problems clipping in initially. These are great to have, and I frequently forget my SPD shoes when I take my bike somewhere. It's good to have the option to ride with normal shoes.

I like the size and shape of these pedals. They use a standard 9/16 thread and work with standard two-bolt SPD shoes. The pedals attached easily to my SPD shoes that already had standard cleats. I did loosen the spring tension adjustment to its minimum tension which is sufficient for my riding needs at present. The mechanics of stepping into the pedal and stepping off the pedal worked as expected. The bearings on the pedals seem very smooth and turn evenly but a little slowly; I assume this is due to lubrication and they will loosen up a bit as they are used.Overall, a great set of SPD pedals with an included set of cleats.
