Have not created a fire yet with this but have got it workingFirst you get a cap, 2x bearings, 2x spindles, the bow, base, and string (plus some wool)-insert one of the bearings into the cap-next push the string through the larger spindle until you get to the middle of the string-tie off one bit of string to the bow near the 'handle' and the other end of the string to the other end of the bow-next start wrapping the string around the spindle (making sure you go clockwise and anti clockwise if above or below the hole for the spindle) so there is no slack in the string- place the point of the spindle into one of the groves on the base, and place the cap on the other end of the spindle, so the spindle is now upright (and 90degrees from the bow)- one hand on the spindle and the other hand on the bow, make a sawing motion with the bow hand and it will spin the spindle, push down with the cap hand and this will create the ash/heat to create the fire-place the ash onto the wool, wrap the wool around the ash and blow until the woo ignites
