Very substantial digging set, it was very thick and kept him busy for quite a while. my 8yo loves these and this one gave him a new challenge. This didn’t make too much mess and he was thrilled to find 15 real gems and stones in there. The booklet that provides information on each gem and stone was informative and this proved to be a fun and educational activity. We have bought a little clear storage case to keep them in and he often goes back to them. Excellent value for money.

This was a great birthday gift for my child who says he is going to be a geologist when he grows up. I gave him this with a card attached saying that I’m going to take him to a mine museum.I was pleasantly surprised by the generously sized gems the set provided. Especially the big chunk of rose quartz.My only con for the set is that using only the plastic chisel it comes with would have taken him forever to reach all of the gems (which I guess could be a pro if you’re trying to kill the maximum amount of time lol). We ended up using a mini hammer from a different fossil dig kit we had laying around.

I bought this for a 6 year old girl for Christmas, and she loved it. She dug them all up and had them all ready to show her mom. It's nice because it's something a 6 year old could do herself with minimal adult intervention.I was going to give it 4 stars because there were some rocks missing, but I contacted customer service and they got me the missing rocks really fast so I'm giving it 5 stars for the amazing customer service.
