The globe is quite well constructed (and easy to assemble), but arguably expensive for what it is (I paid £117.80). It arrived with a 2 pin European plug (the globe is manufactured in Italy), so I had to purchase a European to UK adapter (the main reason my rating is not 5 stars). It comes with a 2W LED bulb, which is surprisingly bright. When illuminated, there is a visible band around the equator were the 2 halves join, but I suppose that is to be expected. I think the globe looks a higher quality when it is not illuminated. The names of the Moon's features and the landing sites of the missions sent by various countries are identified in great detail showing how much work has gone into this globe. The first time I illuminated it in a darkened room it made me think that all of my ancestors must have sometimes looked up at a full moon (and thousands of years ago some of them may even have worshipped it), but we know so much more about it now than they ever could.
