Gebruik altijd handschoenen bij het hanteren van composteerbare materialen. Vermijd het composteren van scherpe voorwerpen, vlees, zuivel en zieke planten. Houd de bak schoon en droog om geuren en ongedierte te voorkomen. Compost niet in een afgesloten ruimte vanwege het risico op schadelijke gassen.

Arrived in no packing at all, other than the Amazon box, and with its lid missing making it a bit difficult to review or recommend. There doesn't seem to have been any attempt to fix the lid to the base, no obvious signs of tape or string, just a brand tag tied to the handle. The front where the word 'Compost' is printed was also all scraped and scratched and I notice I'm not the only person to have this damage on their bin.Shame because what there is of it seems good, it's made from sturdy hard part-recycled plastic and with a chunky Bamboo handle. I assume the lid was up to the same standard but we'll never know. I'd save your time and money until they figure out a way to package these for transit so you get all of the parts and none of the damage.

I got this bin to replace an ugly faded plastic bin that was beginning to look as icky as the contents. But while this bin certainly looks smarter, the older bin had one key advantage that this bin is sorely missing. On the older bin, the lid popped on tight, like a bit of Tupperware. It may have been a bit of a faff to pop it on and off, but it meant there was a solid seal that kept the smells in. The lid on this bin is a loose fitting panel that just sits on the top. It’s not airtight, and especially if you’ve got a green bag inside it that’s folded around the edges, there’s a visible gap- that lets the smells out. For me, that’s a fairly simple and fundamental design flaw.The rest of the presentation of the bin is generally OK, but not great. The “compost” labelling and warm grey colour are reasonably smart, but the bin doesn’t withstand close inspection. On the one I got, there’s a fairly substantial chip in the wood on the handle around one of the screw holes where it connects to the main bin, I’ll have to sandpaper that down as it’s a properly sharp edge I could easily catch a finger on. Even when the bin was brand new, it had some marks on the top, and it doesn’t look like it’s been stored well.As I write this, this bin is priced at over thirty quid, which is ridiculous to the point that I think it must be some kind of admin error. There’s nothing about this product or its build quality or design which justifies that price, and it doesn’t have any kind of Joseph Joseph style branding appeal that would make it fashionable.The plastic may be part-recycled and there might be some positives about it, but this is a really overpriced and quite poorly designed bin.

This little compost bin is a little to light to be sturdy,as all it would take is a quick knock for it to tip over,and the lid to come loose.The pot itself is a good size for a few scraps but not if you have a family as you'd be forever emptying it.The handle is made from sustainably sourced bamboo and compliments the grey bin and lid.My wife has claimed it for her craft room to store her scraps of card in,as it is a perfect fit in there (just with the front facing the wall).At £31.09,at the time of writing this review, i feel it is slightly overpriced and as such have given it 4 stars.

Although the compost bin is attractive in a grey colour scheme and with a wooden handle, it isn’t well thought out and the size is misquoted, so it is no wonder people have commented that it is smaller than expected. It isn’t much smaller than most food waste bins and only a cm or two smaller than my Simple Human version, but it isn’t the size quoted in the product listing of 20 x 17 x 30cm, but it is only 16 x 16 x 20 cm (I excluded the lip on the lid since that isn’t usable capacity. That’s quite a bit smaller than you would expect and capacity is compromised.I think the design looks nice, but it is not well thought out. You rely on the lid fitting well to eliminate odours and it does fit well, but that’s it. There is no filter inside unlike most other options and smells will build up inside, being released when you remove the lid.That lip on the lid makes you want to flip it open, particularly as most food bins have a hinged lid; not this one. You have to lift it off, which means one hand is occupied holding the lid by the rim whilst the other deposits scraps. A handle on the lid would make removal and replacement much easier, as would a hinge that could mean flicking it open with a nail.The bin is shown being used without a liner and obviously using one means it won’t look so good if it is out on display. It will need to be washed regularly though to reduce smells, more so if you don’t use a liner and that handle is made of wood and that makes washing tricker as it shouldn’t really get wet. So even regular washing of the bin is harder than it needs to be.I do like the bin and think it looks good, but the sizing quoted in the listing needs to be corrected and the lid either needs a handle or hinge.
