This lens filter hardly leaves my set up. I’ve been searching for the missing piece to help me solidify my moody/cinematic vibe and round out my goal aesthetic of a warm, living memory. This lens softens harsh light, turns direct sun in pure magic, and contributes to the living memory aesthetic perfectly!

Awesome filter, one effect I have not been able to successfully replicate in photoshop so I’m glad this filter is available!

I used it and found I am not able to see the effect at all.

As you can see in the photos I've provided, you get quite a difference in daytime exteriors vs nighttime exteriors. When you are filming using a small LCD screen on the back of a camera, it's hard to tell what's really going on (especially when you are filming yourself). Popping this into my video editor at home, I was able to see much more what was happening though and... I like it!During the day, it takes off some of that digital sharpness giving a nice overall smoothness that I like. I was using a Rokinon 20mm T1.9 on this particular day and filming in 4k. That lens is quite sharp, especially if you're not shooting it wide open which I had it set to T2.8. I did add a little bit of tilt-shift blur to the top and bottom of the image, so just be aware that is not part of what this filter gives you.When it comes to using this at night, I think the glow is a bit strong. I would cut back to a 1/8 strength if I had it, or refrain from having bright sources directly in the frame. We live and we learn! I do like this filter though, and think it looks great paired with the right lens. I believe the price is fair as well.
