And I mean ALL THE WAY OUTSIDE where your Too Expensive, Too Fragile, and Too Easily Ruined strobe is at the mercy of the elements.UNLESS you HAVE this NEEWER RAIN COVER specifically designed for their Q4 strobe. The Q4 is a beautifully made 400 watt-second strobe that is BATTERY powered. Studio quality light anywhere, anytime without needing an AC electric plug. It is a joy to use, and its versatility is unrivalled at its price.It is expensive, but it is LESS expensive than the next level 700 watt-second unit that can NOT go on location sans AC. So, the Q4 IS the strobe that goes outside. It is a great spot to take advantage of Golden Hour portraits with a softbox kicker to put a catch light in the model’s eyes.I have taken MANY photos there with excellent results but on ONE occasion a squirrel jumped from the trees onto the softbox and its momentum toppled the lightstand with the softbox and flash attached. I had sandbags on the legs of the lightstand to prevent any breeze from doing it, but the weight of that chubby little squirrel did the job with no trouble.The lightstand and softbox were unharmed but the Nikon SB910 flash was a total loss other than the four AA batteries. The irony is that I FEED all the outdoor animals, squirrels included, every day.I still use that glade for the senior portraits but now I use a heavy rolling C-Stand to hold the softbox and flash. I like this cover for my Q4, it does exactly what I need it to. While Its nice to have the sleeves for changing settings during something like a snow storm, they can potentially get in the way of the flash if its very windy out. I would have liked it if the sleeves were detachable but I'd still rather have them than not at all. The cover itself fits perfectly on the Q4, no complaints there. I haven't had the chance to run it for any length of time beyond a short shoot but it feels pretty durable. The only thing I don't like is that the cover will only accommodate the small reflector included with the Q4. It will not work with any sort of umbrella or softbox since the front end has no zipper. Other than that, i'm happy about how it fits nicely in the zipper compartment in the Q4s case. All in all, this is a great form fitted cover for the Q4 flash. While the Q4 is crazy cheap for what you get, it's still worth taking care of. I also want to note, this is a form fitted cover for the Q4, it's not something that you should buy if you plan on using it as a camera bag or some other off label use. This isn't the type of fabric i'd want rubbing on my lens.

Due to the design of the Q4, i knew that i would never take it out if there was a significant chance of rain.
