Winkelwagen is nog leeg.Two CDs. Digitally remastered edition. Decade is a compilation by Neil Young, originally released in 1977 as a triple album. It contains 35 of Young's songs recorded between 1966 and 1976, among them five tracks that had been unreleased up to that point. It peaked at #43 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and was certified platinum by the RIAA in 1986. Compiled by Young himself, with his hand-written liner notes about each track, Decade represents almost every album from his career and various affiliations through 1977 with the exception of Four Way Street and Time Fades Away. Of the previously unreleased songs, "Down to the Wire" features the New Orleans pianist Dr. John with Buffalo Springfield on an item from their shelved Stampede album; "Love Is a Rose" was a minor hit for Linda Ronstadt in 1975; "Winterlong" received a cover by Pixies on the Neil Young tribute album from 1989, The Bridge; and "Campaigner" is a Young song critical of Richard Nixon. The track "Long May You Run" is a different mix to that found on the album of the same name, featuring the harmonies of the full Crosby Stills & Nash before David Crosby and Graham Nash left the recording sessions.

Muy buen recopilatorio de Neil Young.Quizás habría metido alguna q otra canción.Me hubiese gustado q fuese un recopilatorio en caja de cd en vez del cartoncito, pero bueno la música es lo q importa.Tiene grandes canciones .Me quedo con la versión de Long may you run .. SUBLIME.

The title here says it all. In a total of 35 songs spanning Neil Young's first 10 years from his days with the Buffalo Springfield, his outing with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, his solo career with or without Crazy Horse and culminating with Stills-Young. This set originally was released as a 3-record set in 1977. Now in its 40th anniversary it's been reissued as a remaster and still sounding fresh as ever. Most of us who have grown to love Neil Young's work, no matter what phase or time of his musical life, recognized most of the titles of his work featured here but were surprised to find some previously unreleased gems. Among them were "Down To The Wire"[from the unreleased Buffalo Springfield album Stampede], "Sugar Mountain"[from Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, MI in 1968 also the B-sides to "Cinnamon Girl" and "The Loner"], "The Star Of Bethlehem" and "Deep Forbidden Lake"[both from Homegrown, the unreleased sequel to Harvest] and "Love Is A Rose"[Recorded at a rehearsal for a CSNY reunion tour in 1974 and later recorded by Linda Ronstadt].I got this for my girlfriend/bandmate because she never had this collection before. It has most of our favorite Neil Young songs of that first decade[No pun on this collection's title] and we saw him with Crazy House on the Greendale tour in 2003, during our first year together, he played some of the material we came to hear and some he didn't[Among them "Southern Man", the one that prompted Lynyrd Skynyrd to respond with their classic "Sweet Home Alabama". That's another story]. We didn't much care for the Greendale stuff. It can't top the classic Neil stuff in this collection. She's very pleased with this collection even though it features some of the same material that's on his Greatest Hits collection which she also has. I already have this collection myself but I got this copy specifically for her.You definitely wont go wrong with this collection. So for a great bulk of Neil Young's work even if it was his first ten years-GO HERE!

Tout a été dit sur cette compilation, 66/76 c'est l'age d'or du Loner seul ombre au tableau en CD le son c'était vraiment pas ça !Mais là cette version remasterisée est parfaite et il serait dommage de passer à côté, indispensable pour découvrir ou pour les fans !!!
