I've been looking for something to use as a fountain pen stand for ages, without spending a fortune. Someone on Fountain Pen Network I think mentioned using a test tube rack, so off I went to Amazon to see what I could find. I have to say, this has exceeded my expectations. In the photo, it looks a lot more tatty than it is - I took a punt on this and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The photo also looks like the stand is upside down - the big holes are at the top and the bottom holes are shallow wells with a small hole in the centre, where the base of the pens (or, you know, actual test tubes I guess) rest. It's made of plywood I think, so it would be an easy job to stain or paint it. I also have a couple of rollerballs (Retro 51's) in this, and the point of the rollerball rests perfectly in the centre hole of the well, as does the (quite pointy) end of a Lamy Joy calligraphy pen.It's got a small footprint - just 6cm deep and 19.5cm wide. Hopefully the pics will give an idea of what it actually looks like - at least the one I received. I did give the holes a quick going over with fine grit sandpaper, but that was probably me being a bit overly cautious to make sure it was super smooth and wouldn't damage the pen barrels to be fair.

Schlichter und einfacher Reagenzglashalter. Nicht besonders gut verarbeitet. Man hätte sich Splitter einreißen können.Ich schleife es jedoch nochmal ab, da ich es auch für einen anderen Zweck nutzen und evtl auch noch streichen möchte.
