This solution kicks ***. Better coverage, stability and speed than the old RBR50 which it replaced. Internet line is utilized all the way up to the ISPs promise of 5GB, and wi-fi can pull through about 1GB - best if close to the router.

Ich hatte bereits ein ORBI System (RBKR40) im Einsatz bevor ich mich zum neuesten RBKR960er entschieden habe. Das alte tut nach 4 Jahren problemlosen Einsatz, jetzt bei meiner Schwester seinen Dienst.Die Einrichtung vom 960er System war recht schnell getan. Ich hatte sie Anfangs als Router/Satelliten System im Einsatz, betreibe sie seit 2 Wochen aber im AP Modus. Das System läuft seit ca. 6 Wochen. Ich bin immer wieder begeistert von der Geschwindigkeit und Reichweite.Ich habe kein riesiges Haus/Anwesen, aber bei rund 1000m2 Grundstück und dem ein oder anderen Smart Gerät in den hinteren Ecken, war mir Reichweite wichtig. Das Haus selbst ist ein Altbau, also sind die inneren Wände/Decken oft nicht aus Beton sondern Holzbalken, Lehm Stein, etc.. Lediglich die Kellerdecke hat Stahlträger, und die Außenwände liegen teils im Bereich von 30 bis 40cm Dicke.Beim altem ORBI System hatte ich da ein paar Versorgunsprobleme im Keller und draußen. Die fehlende Reichweite draußen hatte ich bisher durch einen Outdoor Satelliten gelöst. Das wollte ich hier nicht mehr.Ich betreibe den RBRE960 (Router) recht zentral im Erdgeschoß. Die Entfernungen zu den Enden des Hauses liegen hier bei 5-10mDer 1te RBSE (Satellit) steht ca. 10m vom RBRE entfernt im Hausflur und soll so meine Kameras für die Einfahrt, Türklingel, Türschloss, sowie den Rund 75m entfernten Pavillon Bereich versorgen (läuft).Der 2te RBSE steht zentral im Obergeschoss, rund 6m vom RBRE entfernt. Das Obergeschoss (rund 75m2) wird komplett bis in die letzte Ecke mit vollem Speed versorgt.Da ich im Keller wie erwähnt recht dicke Decken habe, betreibe ich dort noch einen alten Telekom Smart Wifi Repeater um eine für mich wichtige Ecke zu versorgen. Der Router schafft das eigentlich locker (sowohl Smartphone als auch Tablet empfangen dort ein gutes 5GHz Signal), aber das ein oder andere Smarthome Gerät hat ein paar Probleme. Da ich aber Hochwassersensoren und Tauchpumpen mit Smart Home Elementen Betreibe, kann ich mir Verbindungsprobleme nicht leisten. Daher der "Signal-Overkill".Ich habe in den letzten 4 Wochen, und ganz besonders in den letzte 2 Wochen immer wieder Veränderungen an Position und Einstellungen des ORBI Systems vorgenommen um es besser auszubalancieren. Jetzt bin ich super zufrieden und habe seit 1 Woche das für mich bis Dato beste WLAN im Haus (und Garten)Zum System und den Einstellungen hier noch ein paar Worte:Orbi typisch lässt sich das 2.4er nicht vom 5er GHz Netz trennen, das sollte jeder wissen der es kaufen möchte (speziell für Smart-Home wichtig).Möglich ist hier allerdings ein zusätzliches IoT Netz im 2.4er Bereich senden zu lassen um seine Smart Geräte einzubinden (diese laufen bekanntlich meist auf dem 2.4 GHz Netz.)Die Web-Oberfläche des ORBI ist schlicht, gut überschaubar und verständlich.Die App (Android) zum einrichten des Systems ist OK. Ich bin kein riesen Fan davon, aber das soll jeder selbst entscheiden. Hier geht es schließlich um die ORBI Hardware und nicht unbedingt um die zugehörigen Web/App Applikationen.Die Hardware ist super und macht einen klasse Job.1700 Euro für WLAN ist ne menge Geld. Dafür bekommt man aber auch ein tolles (und bisher problemlos laufendes) System um auch die letzten Ecken seiner Wohnung mit Internet zu versorgen.Ich würde es wieder kaufen.

El funcionamiento es muy estable, la velocidad es óptima, no hay interrupciones...en ese aspecto el mejor mesh que he tenido (y este es el cuarto).La configuración es complicada si te sales un poco del carril. Las funciones avanzadas dejan mucho que desear y el soporte técnico es cortito si buscas hacer algo elaborado (que por otra parte es bastante difícil por las capacidades que se exponen al usuario)

Viniendo de un sistema mesh de Tenda (20% del precio de este Netgear producto), he de decir que este sistema es ampliamente mejor. No tanto en las velocidades (se han doblado, no obstante), como en la cobertura (infinitamente mayor), y la estabilidad (no tiene caídas ni descenso de rendimiento cuando hay muchos equipos conectados al mismo router).Es un producto muy caro, con muy mala relación calidad-precio, pero realmente es como tener una red ethernet en casa, pero sin tener que hacer instalaciones de cable y de forma inalámbrica.Volvería a hacer la compra.

Bought this to upgrade our Orbi RBK53S (router plus two satellites - which we bought in 2017) as it was starting to struggle with our ever-increasing devices count (would occasionally reboot itself and drop connections when loaded). It worked really well other than that.So here we are now with the RBKE963. The pluses are that it's easy to set up, it is considerably faster on WiFi connected devices as well as being able to reach them further away and have a lot more of them connected concurrently. I also like having a separate network for IoT devices. And they physically look nice, which is just as well because they're huge and you can't really hide them.The negatives are they are outrageously expensive and Netgear have the cheek to slap annual subscriptions on top for facilities that should come as standard, such as parental controls and cybersecurity. That really irks and is primarily why it drops a ratings star. The other thing that ain't great is the app and the web user interface dashboard are both quite slow and buggy... neither reporting back what's connected accurately enough being one of my main gripes with them. And my experience with Netgear is that they never really get on top of their software upgrade fixes... usually correcting one thing but breaking another in the process.Having said that, I've tried a few cheaper mesh systems and - as you'd expect - they don't perform as well as this... particularly with their range of coverage. I wouldn't recommend this system to everyone looking for a mesh for their home... there are a lot of features on this that are simply overkill... but if you want to future proof your WiFi a bit... like having features such as separate Guest and IoT networks, wireless backhaul, expandability... and can afford it's ludicrous price tag... the RBKE963 is difficult to ignore.**UPDATE**I recently had to add another satellite to this (bought one used as at the time of writing, new ones cost silly money). Whilst WiFi signals were reaching the garden room (about 40 metres away from where the router is located, for the security camera and smart speaker in there) it wasn't quite enough for stable streaming performance (it was fine for switching on remote plugs in there though). Adding the extra satellite improved matters no end. In fact, performance improved in other areas of the home that would normally struggle, such as the kitchen - in which devices there would connect to the garden room satellite now rather than trying to battle their way through the WiFi-unfriendly microwave and fridge freezer interferences to attempt connectivity to the router. Even better performance was achieved by reducing the WiFi transmission power (accessed via the web interface dashboard) down from 100% to 25% to help decrease what I theorise as "WiFi distortion"... a bit like having the volume on your audio system turned up to full volume. The whole system now works flawlessly in all corners of the home. So for any of you having issues with this system's connectivity, consider more / better placed satellites and reduce transmission power and hopefully like me, you'll experience better all-round performance.
