It might work if you use it really close to one of the speakers, in direct line, no obstacles and by pressing the buttons really hard.

Man sollte genau auf die Typenbezeichnung und die Tastenfunktionen achten, damit die FB genau zum Edifier Speaker passt. Wenn das identisch zum Original ist, funktioniert alles perfekt. Und das Tastengefühl ist sogar besser als beim Original.

I love Edifier speakers. In fact, I love them so much I now have three different pairs. They sound all fantastic and for what they cost they are an absolute bargain. The only fly in the ointment has been the remote controls on the two older pairs, particularly the one for my R1280DBs. Almost from the beginning the RC has been a bit hit and miss and it got worse over time to the point where I could switch the inputs and mute the sound but that was about all. So, when I saw this one I was very keen to see if it was any better.As you can see from the image the original and this replacement are identical apart from the branding. Another thing that is identical is how useless they both are. As with the original, on the replacement only some of the buttons work. For example volume up doesn't work but volume down does. I think between the two I will have a full set of controls but it beats me how the manufacturer's quality control systems do not pick up the faults.In conclusion, I cannot recommend this RC. You might be lucky and get a better one than I did but I don't think it is worth the risk or spending just over a tenner on. Thankfully Edifier seem to have realised they have a problem and my newest pair of speakers have a excellent RC. In the meantime I will just continue to use manual control over my R1280DBs; as I have been doing for about the last 5 years.
