I tried pretty much every step-on boot I could get my hands on from Burton, DC and Nitro. There aren't that many so I'm pretty sure I tried literally everything. These were my favorite. The fit is perfect and they feel well made unlike some of models from DC and Burton that feel like they'll fall apart after a few seasons. I thought I wanted a BOA originally but after using a couple different BOAs for a few days, I ended up not liking them at all. They loosen throughout the day and I didn't feel I could really fine tune the pressure I wanted, and the BOA dials are almost rubbing on the bindings on some boots, plus it's extra stuff to get your pants around. The TLS system on these boots - at first I thought it was annoying and cumbersome, but after using it a few times I'm pretty sure this is the absolute best lacing system I've ever seen. It's faster than BOA and no comparison to regular laces. I am in and out of these so quick, with good control on upper vs lower tightness, I can pop open the lower area while I'm having lunch without undoing the top, etc. Heel hold is perfect. Tongue stiffener does it's job and it's cool that you can take it out to make them more flexible. I rode in 15 degree weather the other day and my feet were totally comfortable temp wise. Yea, I love this boot. I might buy a 2nd pair as backup because they already changed the next gen and added a BOA top strap which doesn't feel needed to me.

There’s a plastic inside the book that is very uncomfortable and doesn’t allow you to tighten up the boot without giving you pain. They also charged me a restocking fee of $67 after returning it. I don’t recommend purchasing this. I went with the DC phase step on which turned out to be the best choice for step on boots imo.
