Only down side is my previous punch had a clip so you could put it in the down position and lock it - this made it smaller to store. Other than that no complaints, its solid and well made. Love the colour.

The Novus B230 “high quality” office perforator arrived with a design omission, as a reputable old German brand established in 1940s, the high handle can not be locked into a lower position for space saving storage. My cheap Rexel I bought about 20 years ago and it punches and locks to lower today without any mechanical issue. This is obviously a cost saving move.I bought this punch due to its 10 year guarantee and good reviews, the paper packaging is thin and so weak that it’s Already broken in the thick Amazon envelope, another sign of saving cost and lowering quality. Decision makers in this company are bold in making risky decisions on cost saving, profitability and compromising quality, but very very timid on admitting that their products are made in China, they clearly know what kind of reputation “Made in China” has, but they still chose china among many other cheap, but more honest countries. I can’t find a better word than greed to reflect their thoughts.They did make some effort to make “Made in China” very hard to find for buyers, it’s definitely not printed on the packaging as it will affect their sales and income, I have to use a LED lit magnifier to search the whole product and locate the fine print at the bottom of the punch. I believe the punch won’t have problems punching paper, the design of Novus is clearly inferior to my old Rexel, I would be happy if it can last more than 10 years, honestly such a simple product, with quality rather than cost saving and profitability as high priority, it should last for decades or generations. I will be much more careful and sceptical when considering products claiming having “German” ingredients, I knew the word German or Germany has been used by scammers for a long time. I felt I was cheated by an “authentic” German business.
