Was recommended this for diverticulitis. I cannot tell you it was useful in any way and in fact, increased my pain during a flare. I don't use this product in ANY brand as it does not help. Some people find it irritating instead of healing.

I recently stopped taking Nexium because I don't want to be on medication all my life, and I have used the slippery elm powder to do teas. I do tea in the morning either before or after breakfast, in the afternoon after or with lunch, and in the evening before bed. With slippery elm powder, I can sleep peacefully without a sour tummy or burning chest feeling. I actually even drink the tea cold without brewing it in hot water at lunch, for convenience's sake, and it seems to do fine.This product has really been a lifesaver for me. I will not say that I am symptom free, but this is both a symptom manager and a symptom moderator. My symptoms are milder now and it's more sour stomach. It does not goes as far as reaching the esophagus anymore. Also, there are no side effects, unlike Nexium that caused me to have both horribly vivid strange dreams and trouble waking up. I can now sleep soundly and wake up without a problem after about 10 days or so on the teas. I also do a probiotic, Culturelle, because I noticed that way earlier on in my recovery journey, Iit helped me to move to a normal diet much more quicky.If you have been struggling to find something to help you, do try this. It works very well and for a much better price than over $1 a pill for Nexium.

I purchased this a long time ago, but it keeps coming up in my items to review, so i thought I would give a few comments about it. I have had a lot of stomach problems, including GERD with indigestion, heartburn, etc. Although I haven't tried any other brands, this seems to help when I've had flare-ups. I make a hot tea with it, several times a day, and it seems to help. I believe it coats the lining of your stomach. Anyway, it has been a go-to solution when I'm having problems, like recently. I would definitely get some slippery elm if you have similar issues.

I switched to this from mineral oil (too hard to get a safe dose) and Miralax for my 15 y.o. cat.
