I found the traces of a lead wire for a gas pipe and for underground electric (disconnected) wires for a pool pump in minutes. Both were almost 1m deep in the ground. Wire location depth estimate (by holding the receiver antenna at 45 degrees while searching) is very easy to do and quite precise as well. Just read the user manual first ... you will be searching for no receiver signal (absolute silence) locations (not, like you may intuitively think, for the strongest radio signal) when the receiver antenna is pointing at the ground directly on top of the searched wire.
