I usually go for white crockery ,I find it easy to match up if you have a breakage. These white plates have a plain inner and a patterned edge. I have put them in the dishwasher and they were fine, as shiny as a new pin as they say. I have also reheated a meal in the microwave with no problems. I like this set and will be ordering some bowls to match. You cant beat a nice clean bright white dinner service.
