I use these to protect my hands while training on a roof hand crack at the local climbing gym. I've used them since I first started practicing crack climbing about 2 years ago. They were great at protecting my hands while I developed good enough technique and strong enough skin to jam vertical cracks. They cost about the same as building a new pair of tape gloves each time I crack climb at the gym. But these Ocun gloves grip real rock a little better than the best tape I can find. They're slightly thinner than the original Ocun crack gloves, but they still make my hand size noticeably bigger.

Gloves were heavily used and smelled like feet. While opening Christmas gifts we almost vomited.

I've tried the Outdoor Research Splitter gloves and the regular Ocun crack climbing gloves, both of which are considered the best by many people. The design of these gloves has a few improvements over the original Ocun gloves, and one of those is the strap allowing them to stay on your wrist a lot more securely. I'd say the aforementioned gloves run small, but these should fit as expected. So if you have medium-sized hands, I'd get the large Splitter or regular Ocun gloves, but medium version of these. Anyway, they're very helpful for protecting your hands during crack climbing. You might not need them if you're climbing in a gym, but I'd definitely use them if you're climbing outside. The Splitters are too thin in my opinion. It can be helpful for feeling the contours of the crack better, but it makes them less durable and less protective against sharp rocks. The regular Ocun gloves are too thick in my opinion, because although they're more durable, you can't fit your hand in some cracks you otherwise could've, and can't feel the rock quite as well. These are a good thickness to me. If you care more about gloves that'll last a long time, though, the regular Ocun's are probably better.

Sleeve for wrist strap glued shut so returned it. Ordered a second pair and the same problem on one glove only. Returned it again. Ocun please check quality before selling. Thanks
