I do a lot of art work and use a lot of metallics. I am always looking for white, gold and silver pens that can consistently draw or write without streaks or stoppages. When I had the opportunity to try the Ohuhu gel pens, I was happy to experiment.I have used Ohuhu alcohol markers and was happy with them, so anticipated no problems with these pens. I am quite disappointed in these pens, however. Out of the six white pens, only one wrote the entire sentence without streaking or skipping. These pens should feel like they glide, but instead are scratchy and they stop working mid way through. I had to stop several times and draw circles or doodle to get the pen to write again.I had better luck with the silver on black. The ink flowed nicely, no streaks, dried quickly and left a nice sheen. Interestingly, though, one of the silver pens, had more of a light grey tone to it than the silver which was quite noticeable. The pen itself felt good and I didn’t have to press hard to get any ink out. The worst of these were the gold. The pen nib felt scratchy, the ink did not flow nicely, in fact, it was difficult to get the gold out.Colouring with these is a different story. As you can see from the attached photo, the colour is very thick and is hard to control the flow; almost too much ink comes out. I think it would be a better outlining pen than a colouring pen. Because it comes out thick when colouring, it also takes longer to dry so there can be a tendency to smudge. For colouring, I am glad that it is very fine point. I also took the white pen and went over the black line in the black heart that is coloured silver. The white almost covered the black in its entirety, you can just see a faint outline.Personally, having used Uniball, Sakura Micron, Gelly Roll and others, these are just okay. I like the fine point but I don’t like having to have the pen stop working in the midst of writing. Nor do I like colouring and a blob of ink comes out. It would be difficult to do detailed work with these pens, because of the ink flow. I would be interested to see what the multicolours are like though, as they tend to release ink a little better than gold and silvers. So, I don’t hate these, but I don’t love them. I will get good use from them and price wise, 12 metallics for $18.99 is good value. At the moment, they are also on at a discounted price. I would give them a 3.5, but since there are no halves, I’ll rate them a four in the hopes that the more I use them, the more they will grow on me.

Tried one of the white pens to write on some black stickers. It was difficult to get the ink flowing, even when trying it out on regular paper. It would start and stop a lot. When I was able to write on the sticker, I left it alone for 30 minutes, and then it still smeared. Though that could be just as much the fault of the sticker, I guess.

Full disclosure, I meant to order the Ohuhu colorful gel pens. However, I wasn’t paying attention and accidently ordered the set of white, silver and gold gel pens. Regardless, I’m not unhappy with them, who doesn’t love a gel pen? I’m a total journal and stationary girlie and gel pens are a supply I simply cannot go without. This set comes with 12 extra fine point gel pens. It comes with 6 white pens, 3 gold pens and 3 silver pens. Ohuhu is a great brand when it comes to art supplies, and these gel pens are an amazing value. You are getting 12 of them for under ten dollars which is a steal in my opinion. They write decently. I always have an issue with gel pens skipping if I’m not being careful, but these flowed quite nicely. The gold and silver really had a beautiful sparkle to them, and the white was highly opaque. The ink dried fast so I had no issues with smudging. Although I still want to try the colorful Ohuhu gel pens, I don’t regret getting these, especially because I always need extra white ones. They are a welcome addition to my stationary supplies.
